There is NO verse that states the Israelites will be gathered from the nations nor the corners of the earth. Isaiah only identifies land areas which have boundaries. Those land areas that are identified are all middle east areas.

The problem with the argument "the Israelites will be gathered from the nations/corners of the earth" is the English word earth does not exist in the Hebrew text. The actual word is erets which is a homonym which has multiple meanings. One of the possible meanings is earth but by examining the context in other verses the word could not possibly mean earth.
This page will look at the verses translated to the English word earth and also the ONLY specific locations identified (which are ALL middle east locations)

ISAIAH 2:6 Therefore you hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers. (The Philistines lived to the S.E. of the Israelites)

ISAIAH 5:26 And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss to them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly:
|7097| from the end of Strong's Ref. # 7097
Romanized qatseh, Pronounced kaw-tseh'
or (negative only) qetseh {kay'-tseh}; from HSN7096:
an extremity (used in a great variety of applications and idioms; compare HSN7093):
KJV--X after,
border, brim, brink, edge, end, [in-]finite, frontier, outmost coast, quarter, shore, (out-)side, X some, ut(-ter-)most (part).
|0776| the earth. The Hebrew word is not earth but erets.
Strong's Ref. # 776, Romanized 'erets, Pronounced eh'-rets
from an unused root with multiple possible meanings to be firm; the earth (at large, or, partitively, a land): ... country, earth, field
Earth could be any of these meanings... the original word is not the English word earth but Erets which could have other meanings that exclude the earth
ISAIAH 5:26 And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss to them from the brim/border of the earth/country/field or land.
* The nations.. what nations are not identified. It does not say all nations of the earth. In other verses the ONLY nations that are identified are middle east nations.
* and bring them back
* from the edges, rim/brim
* of the field, earth, country or land.
Seeing how God knew the world was not flat, it could not be the earth. With a round globe there are no edge, end, rim, brim, border.
This verse could not be talking about the earth/globe but it would have to be a specific segment or area of the globe to reach the end, border or edge of it.
By the book of Esther we know only 46,000 Israelites returned to Israel and there were over 20 million Israelites who remained in Persia.. 127 provience.. Turkey to Egypt-Lybia and from Israel to India.... this is the land the Israelites were scattered into.

ISAIAH 6:13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return,... From where is not stated.

Where are they here in chapter 10, who is the target of this information?
ISAIAH 10:5 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.
ISAIAH 10:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob,
ISAIAH 10:21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.
ISAIAH 10:22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return:
Strong's Ref. # 7605 Romanized sh'ar, Pronounced sheh-awr'
from HSN7604; a remainder
The Assyrian empire is not the whole earth, but look at the map of these middle east nations.
ISAIAH 10:31 Madmenah (east Israel 21 42 28 N, 35 23 14 e) is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim (east israel 31 50 18 n, 35 17 32 e) gather themselves to flee.

ISAIAH 11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day the Lord shall come the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
Russia, Polland, Germany? NO !!!
I will give any the latitude and longitude of any place they want to find, It is just too hard looking them all up in every verse.

ISAIAH 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
* Of course a globe has no corners. Only defined parts of the earth has any corners.
The word is not four corners but 3671 the four wings
from HSN3670; an edge or extremity
Of course there is no edge or corners on the earth and the original word is not earth but
Strong's Ref. # 776, Romanized 'erets
meaning to be firm; the earth (at large, or, partitively, a land):
X common, country, earth, field, ground, land, X nations ...
There could be an edge on a flat earth, but God knew the earth was a globe.. the globe has no edges but a parcel of land could.
That parcel of land where the Israelites were scattered is identified as Persia, Babylon, Assyria which included a bunch of Arab nations and besides the empires the specific Arab nations are identified.

ISAIAH 11:14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
This is not talking about an encounter with Germans, Russians or Pollocks but the prophecy deals with the people of the Arab nations.

ISAIAH 11:16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

End Strongs Ref 7097 pronounced Kaw-tseh.. from kaw-tseh
from the end of the earth
from the extremity
from the borders
from the brim
from the edge
The earth is not flat but it is a globe. On a globe, to travel to the extreme point from where you are standing, you would start at your present point, travel around the earth and be standing directly behind where you began.
A globe has no end, a globe has no border, a globe has no brim, a globe has no edge.
NOT ONE of the original Hebrew words apply to the earth / globe. Unless the scriptures are a man made concoction.. when men were ignorant of the shape of the earth, God would know the world was not flat.
[erets = earth, field, land area or country]
|776| the earth.
Strong's Ref. # 776, Romanized 'erets, Pronounced eh'-rets
from an unused root probably meaning to be firm; the earth (at large, or, partitively, a land): ... country, earth, field
* This word could be earth, but earth is eliminated because A globe has no end, a globe has no border, a globe has no brim, a globe has no edge.
* It could mean to be firm, but this meaning does not fit the context.
* It could be a land area, it has an end, a brim, corners, edges or borders.
* It could be a field, it has an end, a brim, corners, edges or borders.
* It could be a nation, it has an end, a brim, corners, edges or borders.
All languages work the same as English, when a word has multiple meanings you must look at the context. Both the mis-translated word corners and the word used for earth, have multiple meanings.
i.e. Bug
* an insect
* a foreign automobile
* a mistake
* to bother some one
Which meaning applies.. look at the context.
There is a bug in your soup, with a false translation would read
There is a foreign automobile in your soup.
1. One of two or more words that have the same sound and often the same spelling but differ in meaning.

The Hebrew language is like any other language. There are hundreds of words that are homonyms. Picking the wrong meaning results in a false translation.
It is impossible to go to a corner of the earth, it is impossible to jump off the edge of the earth.
The translation to the ends or corners of the earth is as goofy as translating the English phrase you have a bug in your soup to a German phrase, you have a Volkswagen in your soup.
We know exactly the land area the Israelites were scattered into by the end of 2 Kings and we know over 20 million were left there to be assimilated in to the middle east nations.. and we know by prophecy the named places the Israelites will be gathered from.
From the edge of the earth.. giggle, no, but from the edge of the land area which existed in the Persian Empire.
The ends / corners of the earth.. NO, the edge / corners of the middle east nations where the Israelites were both scattered and will be gathered in the prophecy.

Return from where, come from where... Germany, Russia, Australia, the USA? .. no
ISAIAH 19:22 And the Lord shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the Lord, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.

ISAIAH 27:13 ... the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

ISAIAH 33:3 At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered. (The ONLY nations identified in Isaiah are the middle east nations)

ISAIAH 37:4 It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh ... sent by the king of Assyria sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
All the nations of the earth.. NO.. ALL THE NATIONS AND COUNTRIES TAKEN BY THE KINGS OF ASSYRIA... a middle east empire.
ISAIAH 37:18 Of a truth, Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries, (None of these are Germany, Russia or Poland)

ISAIAH 37:20 Now therefore, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the [erets = earth, field, land area or country] may know that you art the Lord, even you only.

ISAIAH 37:31 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root [remnant = fraction as in a remnant sale]
ISAIAH 37:32 ... a remnant, that escape out of mount Zion ...

ISAIAH 37:37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and lived at Nineveh.
Parts of Isaiah are prophecy and parts are historic accounts of things that had already happened... This is history unless there is going to be another Assyrian empire and another Sennacherib who is going to again depart and live in Nineveh.

earth.. actual word erets has several homonyms
land area
or country
In some context the proper homonym is earth, but our question is ONLY about the return of the Israelites, so it is only in these verses you must look for the correct homonym.

ISAIAH 41:9 You whom I have taken from the ends of the [erets = earth, field, land area or country], and called ... and said to you, You art my servant; I have chosen you, and not cast you away.
[ Of course there is no end of the earth. You could travel a million years and just go around a circle. Here the word erets can only mean a defined area that has boundaries]

North, East, South and West are relative directions.

If you travel 10 miles north from one city to a 2nd city, that 2nd city is north of your present city.
If you continue traveling north to another than that 2nd city is south of the third city.
There were Arab / Middle east nations north, east, south and west of Israel. Philistini and Lebanon had areas to the west... So any place identified as north, east, south or west of Europe could be any middle east location... but we can look at the general directions to find out where these places could not be.

ISAIAH 41:25 I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.
Here is north... and NORTH sure is NOT Russia.

ISAIAH 42:10 Sing to the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the [erets = earth, field, land area or country], you that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

|7892| Sing,
|3068| to Yahweh
|7892| a song
|2319| new.
|8416| His praise
|7097| from the end of
|0776| the erets,
|3381| who go down
|3220| to the sea,
|4393| and its fullness,
|0339| coasts
|7931| and their inhabitants.
The ends of this erets is the coast/sea. Of course the coast/sea is not the end of the earth (unless God thought the earth was flat and you would fall off at the end)
It appears the eret here is a reference to the end of the boundaries of Israel to the coast line ? You decide for yourself.

ISAIAH 42:12 Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands.
There are gobs of islands clustered around the middle east. This could be a reference to all the islands of the world or islands not identified.
Here is what we know about Polynesians .. islanders outside of the middle east, they had no fair skin, no blond hair .. and of course islands excludes Germany, Russia, Poland.. Europe !

ISAIAH 43:5 Fear not: for I am with you: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather you from the west;

ISAIAH 43:6 I will say to the north, give up; and to the south, keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the [erets = earth, field, land area or country]
Unless God thought the earth was flat, (the earth) a globe has no ends, so this could only be a specific land area in which has borders or edges.
Here the north could be Russia or it could be Syria, Turkey and Lebanon.
East, West and South completely excludes all European nations... and yet 96% of all those who have invaded the middle east are Anglo Saxons from Europe or they are Anglo Saxons who's ancestors started out in Europe... the North !
When the specific nations are identified... North of Israel ... the Israelites will be gathered ONLY middle east nations north of Israel are identified.

ISAIAH 45:12 I have made the [erets = earth, field, land area or country], and created man upon it:
[ Here the word erets ... the only homonym that fits is the globe]
ISAIAH 45:18 ... God himself that formed the earth
Some times the homonym erets can only mean the globe and other times the word could not possibly mean the earth.
Be careful you do not replace the wrong homonym and find a Volkswagen in your soup.

ISAIAH 48:20 Go you forth of Babylon, flee you from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare you, tell this, utter it even to the end of the [erets = earth, field, land area or country]
[ Babylon and Persia include almost all the same land areas. Babylon / the Chaldeans are not at the end of the earth, but in the mid to south west Persia/Babylon was the end of the 127 provinces the Israelites were scattered into.
Here erets could not possibly mean the globe/earth but Babylon/the Chaldeans is a reference to a people/place in a specific land area of the earth. ]

Looking at the phrase the nations ... this is a broad generality in which nations are not identified.
Looking at the word erets ... does it include the whole globe or are specific borders given such as nations, empires, the coast or any boundary markers. If it has boundary markers erets could not possibly be a reference to the earth... Unless you buy the Mormon story that people will live on other planets.

ISAIAH 49:6 It is an easy thing that my servant raise up the Israel.. to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you mayest be my salvation to the end of the erets.
[ Gentile is simply a non Israelite, could be any of the middle east people who were not descendants of the Israelites or any non Israelite.
Here boundaries are given "the end of" so erets is a reference to a specific land area .. and it is my guess, it is the land area where we know the Israelites were scattered.
My guess is NOT a fact, you figure out what land area is in this context.

ISAIAH 49:12 Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
Sinim / Syene A distant land N, E, S, W (LXX land of Persia)
2. Ezek 30:15, Ex 16:1 Sinais being the most likely identification with Syene. (Syene.. near Elephantine .. a colony of "Jews" who sought refuge in Egypt in 587 BC)
Ezk 29:10, 30:6 the far south border of Egypt, A "Jewish" community living there in the 5th century BC left many Aram.. Papyri.
2. Heb. sin were a Canaanite people identified with the region near Arqa on the Lebanon coast.

As I have already pointed out over and over how the Israelites were scattered out of Israel by the end of 2 kings, here we find some of them living in southern Egypt in 587 BC
Elephantine.. an island in the Nile near Aswan.
All places identified in the N, E, S and W are in the middle east !

ISAIAH 56:8 The Lord God, which gathered the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered to him.
[Besides the outcast here it sounds like there will be others (gentiles) gathered?]

ISAIAH 66:18... I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall ... see my glory.
Here it mentions all nations, but does not say the Israelites will come from those nations... and of course not the people of all languages and nations will come to Israel, the population of the earth won't fit in that bucket.

ISAIAH 66:19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.
Tarshish - Jonah 1:3, 4:2 Jona sailed to Tarshish to flee a distant land.
Pul - the name of an Assyrian king and of a Cushite tribe
Javan - Japeth's descendant, coast line from upper Mesopotamia and Syria ... all references an area in the middle east.
Tubal - a son of Lamech
Them that escape to the nations (the only people identified in these nations and all of these nations are middle east people/nations)
Them that escape [Israelites] I will send to these middle east people/places to declare my glory among the gentiles.
These gentiles are middle east gentiles.
ISAIAH 66:20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering to the Lord out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord.

Flash, donkey swims across the ocean packed with an offering to God.

Hmmmm no buses, trains or planes but on animals? Let me see them do that from all the nations of the earth. The only way animals could do that would be if these nations were all in the middle east... well if you wanted to get silly they could load horses and donkeys across the ocean, put them on an air plane and fly them to Israel.. then this prophecy could come true.
Now you have read every verse ( I could find ) in the book of Isaiah about the return of the Israelites.
No Israelites from "All nations of the earth"
No Israelites from "the corners, edges of the earth".
There are MANY references to specific lands or nations the Israelites will be gathered from and they are all the middle east and the Islands of the sea.

There were over 20 million Israelites at the end of 2 kings. Less than 50,000 ever returned to Israel leaving over 20 million Israelites dispersed and assimilated in the middle east nations. If you use Microsoft Excel spread sheet you can punch in your own variables.

These are the scriptures showing when and where they were scattered.

These scriptures outline the flight of refugees and the specified nations the Israelites will be gathered from.
